The Bird in Hand has become a firm favourite for an ever increasing number of regulars within the South Hampshire and indeed West Sussex area. Having been renovated and upgraded in recent years by Peppermill Pubs we are proud that The Bird has now gained a reputation for excellent food and service.
The welcoming and vibrant atmosphere along with the cosy and comfortable surroundings allow our customers to relax and enjoy themselves. The extensive and imaginative menu is an ever-changing experience, using only the freshest, seasonal ingredients. All food is homemade and freshly prepared in our kitchen.
The Bird In Hand is situated on the edge of the village of Lovedean in Hampshire and has been a landmark of the village since the 1800s. With its quaint thatched roof, it was used as the local bakers shop and greengrocers. It still stands on the same grounds but has a more recent half-timbered front & tile roof.
The Bird in Hand has a rich history to it and was the hiding place of the FA cup during the Second World War. In more modern times the Bird in Hand has made a name for itself as a pub with a warm and inviting atmosphere that offers an extensive and imaginative menu using only the freshest, seasonal ingredients.
The Specials Menu changes on a daily basis and uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients.

We serve our full Breakfast available until 11.45am every weekday and 11.30am every weekend.
Freshly made sandwiches, pastries, cakes and scones available everyday 12-5pm.
We also provide a Gentlemen’s Afternoon tea!
